Register for the Globeducate International Debate Competition

The Blyth London Campus will be participating in the Globeducate International Debate Competition hosted this year.

*** Notes: this is only legible for students who attend the London campus***

In preparation, all students in grades 9-12 who are interested are to express interest and apply in advance of the competition.

Participation in the international competition favours highly on your experience portfolio.

There will be two grade categories for the debates:

  • Grades 9 & 10

  • Grades 11 & 12

If you would like to participate in the upcoming international debates with our schools around the world, you are encouraged to apply to the Blyth London Debate Team!

All those interested in applying will be required to submit the following:

Statement of interest:

  • Why do you want to join the debate team?

  • What qualities and skills will you bring to the team?

Preliminary Debate Question:

Include a response in one paragraph (250-words max.) that details your response to the following prompts based on grade level. You can argue for or against.

  • Grades 9/10:

  • Mankind should solve the problems on Earth rather than spend time and money on exploring the universe.

  • Technology intensifies human communication skills

  • Grades 11/12:

  • Creating genetically modified babies (designer babies) should be legal.

  • Only young people (under 20) should run governments


The deadline for applications is February 11th.
